About Learning from Student Work
These guidelines help participants stay focused on the evidence before them and listen to multiple perspectives, rather than getting bogged down in assumptions.
Paseo or Circles of Identity
When a group would like to examine issues of identity, diversity, beliefs, and values, and would like to begin making connections between who they are and how that shapes their decisions and behaviors, the Paseo can be a tool for initiating the dialogue. It is essentially a 2-step process, which begins with individual reflection and then moves into personal storytelling. This is a flexible process, in that the theme of the questions and prompts can be tailored to meet the objectives of the group.
Consultancy
The structure of the Consultancy helps presenters think more expansively about a particular, concrete dilemma. The Consultancy protocol has 2 main purposes - to develop participants' capacity to see and describe the dilemmas that are the essential material of their work, and to help each other understand and deal with them.

Atlas Looking at Data
Looking at Data is a tool to guide groups of teachers discovering what students, educators, and the public understand and how they are thinking.
Continuum Dialogue for Youth Engagement
The Continuum Dialogue is a low risk way for people to get to know each other's perspectives, beliefs, opinions on hard issues, think about our own ways to work and learn, how we self-identify, show and talk about where we stand on difficult issues including those that call for decisions. This process also helps teachers learn about students.
