Providence, RI
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Center for Leadership and Educational Equity (CLEE) is thrilled to announce the expansion of its flagship Principal Residency Network (PRN) program beyond Rhode Island and into Massachusetts. PRN is a residency-based principal certification program (PK-12) that has been approved with distinction by the Rhode Island Department of Education with a long-standing reputation for preparing the next generation of school leaders through immersive, real-world experience. Now, the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (MA DESE) has granted approval for the PRN to run its proven model for educators in Massachusetts. Massachusetts aspiring leaders will have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills through hands-on training necessary to drive meaningful change in their schools and communities.
For 25 years, PRN has empowered graduates to step confidently into leadership roles, fostering collaboration, strengthening school communities, and improving schools to impact student outcomes, and is one of the longest-running residency-based prep programs in the country. By partnering aspiring principals with experienced mentor leaders in residency-based training, PRN prepares future administrators to make data-informed decisions and build inclusive, high-achieving school environments. PRN has a track record of success, 92% of PRN graduates are hired into leadership positions, and 95% of those hired remain in leadership roles for at least 5 years.
PRN Graduates Gain
- Real-World Leadership Experience: Residents gain hands-on experience leading in an educational setting alongside a mentor principal.
- Leadership for School Improvement: Participants learn to identify and challenge biases, engage diverse stakeholders, and implement strategies that create positive student outcomes.
- Collaborative Tools & Community Building: Graduates acquire skills to foster shared leadership, empower teams, and create a collective sense of purpose.
- Data-Driven Decision-Making: Residents develop the ability to analyze and apply data insights to improve student outcomes and school performance.
- Constructive Feedback & Growth Strategies: Participants hone skills in giving and receiving feedback, turning observations into actionable plans for continuous improvement.
With its expansion into Massachusetts, PRN aims to bring its proven leadership development model to a new cohort of aspiring principals eager to create transformational change in their schools.
